Dr. Sabheen Khan
About Me
Dr. Sabheen Khan completed her MBBS in Karachi in 2003 and later pursued advanced Islamic education, earning a three-year diploma in Islamic Studies (taught in Arabic) in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2015, while homeschooling her four daughters.
She studied Al-Qaa’idah An-Nooraaniyyah and Al-Jazariyyah under Dr. Alia Al Jabban, a Sheikha from Masjid An-Nabawi, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and was awarded an Ijazah to teach Al-Qaa’idah An-Nooraaniyyah in 2019.
From 2018 to 2024, Dr. Sabheen served as an Instructor and Academic Coordinator at Parklands Mosque Ladies’ Madrassah in Nairobi, contributing significantly to curriculum development and academic oversight.
A devoted student of the Qur’an, she has a deep appreciation for Qur’an memorization and Tajweed. Outside of academia, Dr. Sabheen enjoys swimming, physical fitness, promoting a healthy and responsible lifestyle, and is a fond cat lover.
Subaia Ishak
About Me
Subaia Ishak is a dedicated educator with over five years of teaching experience, specializing in Islamic Studies and Sciences. She is a mother of two daughters and brings both professional expertise and personal insight into her teaching.
She is a graduate of Girls Training Institute, Pangani, where she pursued Islamic Studies, and also holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from Kenyatta University, with a specialization in Physics and Chemistry. Currently, she serves as an Islamic Studies and Sciences teacher at Maahad Academy Secondary School.
Subaia is deeply passionate about teaching teenagers and Muslim women, inspiring them to embrace Islamic values and develop a strong, heartfelt connection with their Deen. She is especially motivated to support learners as they navigate personal challenges, guiding them with compassion, knowledge, and faith-based principles.
Beyond the classroom, Subaia enjoys reading, exploring Islamic literature, seeking knowledge, and spending quality time with her family.
Fatima Ishak Ismail
About Me
Fatima Ishak Ismail is a dedicated Islamic studies educator and a mother of one. She is a graduate of Muslim Academy and Maahad Academy, with a strong foundation in Islamic education through Baraimul Maahad, Madrassatul Quranul Kareem (Hifdh), and Maahad Banaat.
She is currently in her third year pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fiqh and its Principles at the Islamic University of Minnesota. Fatima also serves as a teacher at Madraasa Teachers Training College – Maahad, where she is actively involved in nurturing and preparing future educators.
Fatima finds great fulfillment in teaching and is passionate about sharing Islamic knowledge, Alhamdulillah, with sincerity and dedication.
Afra Ishak
About Me
Afra Ishak was born and raised in Kenya and, Alhamdulillah, memorised the Qur’an at the age of 15. After completing high school, she pursued a three-year Islamic studies program at Girls Training Institute, graduating in 2018.
She later continued her higher education at Kenyatta University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Alhamdulillah, Afra has seven years of experience teaching Qur’an and Arabic, and is deeply passionate about the Arabic language. She continuously seeks to deepen her understanding through reading, listening, and research, appreciating the beauty and depth of the language.
Outside of teaching, Afra enjoys traveling and connecting with nature, and has an interest in horse riding, though it remains an occasional hobby.
Nuwaylah Naaswir
About Me
Nuwaylah Naaswir is a qualified Islamic educator with a degree in Education (Basic Islamic Studies) and a Master’s degree in Tafsir (Qur’anic Exegesis). She currently serves as the Head and Lead Teacher at Daru Rahman Madrassa and Tahfeedh, where she is actively involved in both administration and instruction.
In her free time, Nuwaylah enjoys reciting the Qur’an, reading Islamic literature, and spending quality time with her children.
